Foods & Snacks

Food is an essential part of the Chander Pahar Retreat experience. Our in-house café serves Bengali-style home cooking, prepared fresh every day with care, balance, and familiar flavors that feel comforting after a day in the hills. The hosts themselves are deeply involved in the kitchen, and it shows—guests consistently praise the food in their feedback for being tasty, wholesome, and genuinely homely.
Whether it’s a quick bite at the rooftop café or a full home-style meal, food at Chander Pahar Retreat is often remembered as one of the highlights of the stay.
Food Details
For lunch and dinner, guests can opt for traditional Bengali meals, including bhaat, daal, seasonal vegetable preparations, paneer dishes, fish curry, chicken kosha, fried rice, and simple desserts like payesh, malpua, or caramel custard. Meals are cooked in a home kitchen style—no excess oil, no shortcuts—just honest food made to be enjoyed slowly.
